Hand reared

Hand-reared birds are those that have been fed by humans rather than their parents. This gives them an early familiarity with people and often makes them easier to tame, as they are less fearful of human contact and more open to interaction. However, hand-reared birds are not automatically tame and can still bite. The term “tame” usually refers to an older bird that has been trained to interact with people, such as stepping onto a hand.
