Arrests made as police investigate murder in Milton Keynes

Police have confirmed that arrests have been made in connection with the investigation into a murder in Bletchley. 

Thames Valley Police confirmed that their Major Crime Unit arrested a 27-year-old man from Milton Keynes on suspicion of murder yesterday evening (04/08). He is still in custody.  

The arrest is in relation to the fatal stabbing of a man named as Mohammed Tanveerul Islam, 26, in Brooklands Road on Thursday night last week (30/07). 

Three other people have been arrested and released with no further action following extensive and rapid investigative work, which ruled them out as suspects. 

Specially-trained officers continue to support the victim’s family at this extremely difficult time.   

Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown, the Head of the Major Crime Unit, said, “Following the incredible work of our large investigative team, we have identified and arrested a man in connection with the tragic murder of Mohammed Tanveerul Islam in Bletchley last week.  

“We understand this murder has been upsetting for the community but our priority remains protecting them which is reflected in this further arrest. We continue to work tirelessly on this complex investigation.  

“Anyone with any relevant information about what happened in Brooklands Road and the wider central Bletchley area that could be linked to this tragic outcome, no matter how big or small, should contact police.”
