CCTV released by police in connection with affray incident in Central Milton Keynes

Police have released CCTV images of a man officers would like to speak to in connection with an incident of affray in Milton Keynes.

The incident happened around 9.15pm on Thursday 30 July, when an offender was in North Ninth Street in Central Milton Keynes.

The offender was spotted carrying a samurai sword and threatening members of the public. People intervened and restrained the offender, preventing any further harm.

A 49-year-old man sustained injuries during the incident, including a cut to his hand and three cracked ribs. He received hospital treatment and has since been discharged.

The offender is a white man and was carrying a samurai sword, which was concealed in his waistband.

As part of their appeal, Thames Valley Police released a CCTV image of a suspect they would like to speak with regarding what happened.

Investigating officer PC Jordan Buchanan-Kay, of the Central Milton Keynes Neighbourhood Policing Team, said, “We are carrying out a thorough investigation to identify the man responsible for this incident, which understandably caused concern within the local community.

“We are treating this investigation as a priority and there will continue to be an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are ongoing.

“I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this incident, or who recognises the man shown in the CCTV images we are releasing, to please come forward.

“I believe the man pictured may have vital information that may assist our investigation, so I would also urge this person to contact us as soon as possible.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the North Ninth Street area around the time of the incident and who may have information about the suspect or his movements before or after the offence.
