Organisations from across Milton Keynes have come together as a new Milton Keynes City Climate Partnership, designed to strengthen climate and sustainability action across the city.
Established by Milton Keynes City Council, and chaired by Cllr Jenny Wilson-Marklew (Cabinet Member for Planning and Sustainability) the partnership brings together public, private and voluntary sectors to share expertise, develop new projects and build on the wide range of sustainability work already taking place in Milton Keynes.
By creating a forum for collaboration, organisations will identify opportunities for investment, promote successful local initiatives and develop a clearer picture of sustainability activity across the city. It will also identify and develop practical solutions to sustainability challenges that help organisations contribute towards their own environmental goals and commitments, benefiting residents, employees and customers.
Five dedicated working groups will help drive this work forward, focusing on the economy, energy, emissions, environment and engagement.
"Addressing climate change requires action from all parts of our community. This partnership brings together organisations that share a commitment to creating a more sustainable Milton Keynes. By working together, sharing expertise and developing practical solutions, we can support residents, help businesses thrive and build a city that is fit for the future."
