Former MK Dons keeper Franco Ravizzoli signs for Leicester City

Former MK Dons goalkeeper Franco Ravizzoli has joined the Dons’ fellow League One side Leicester City.

The 29-year-old has signed a three year deal at the King Power Stadium, with the Argentine moving on a free transfer after leaving Blackpool.

The deal reunites Ravizzoli with Russell Martin, who was managing the Dons when the keeper moved to Milton Keynes in 2021.

In an arrival interview with the Leicester website, Ravizzoli voiced his delight to be making the move to sign for the 2016 Premier League champions.

He said, “I’m absolutely delighted to be here. As soon as I heard about the Club’s interest, I just knew I couldn’t turn the opportunity down. I feel ready for a new challenge and am really looking forward to working with [Russell Martin] again.

“Leicester is a big Club with ambitions to be successful again, and I will give everything to help them on that journey. I’ve heard great things about the Club, the city and the fans so it feels like the right place for me to keep improving. I’m looking forward to working hard every day to challenge for a place in the team; I can’t wait to get going.”

The keeper made 9 appearances at MK Dons in 2 seasons contracted with the club, with his most famous seeing him keep a clean sheet during a league match with AFC Wimbledon in January 2022 after first choice keeper Andy Fisher’s last minute exit.

Ravizzoli left MK Dons in 2023 to sign for their Buckinghamshire neighbours Wycombe, where he made 52 appearances in two seasons at Adams Park. He then left Wycombe for Blackpool in 2025, making 8 appearances for the Seasiders last season.
