Horizon Radio CEO Chris Gregg is swapping his warm bed for a sleeping bag this November as he takes part in the Milton Keynes CEO Sleepout, raising money for local homelessness charity UnityMK.
Chris will join business leaders from across Milton Keynes at Stadium MK on Thursday 12 November 2026, spending the night outdoors from 8pm until 6am the following morning to raise awareness of homelessness and vital funds for those experiencing hardship in our city.
He is hoping to raise at least £1,000 for UnityMK, and is asking Horizon Radio listeners, local businesses and members of the community to support his fundraising efforts.
Supporting people experiencing homelessness in Milton Keynes
UnityMK provides essential support for people who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes, offering practical help, advice and a safe place to turn during some of life's most difficult moments.
The charity operates winter night shelters, providing warm beds, meals and support during the coldest months of the year.
Its homelessness centre also offers meals, showers, laundry facilities and welfare support, helping people navigate challenges including housing difficulties, financial problems and mental health issues.
UnityMK is currently working towards opening a new Support Centre in Wolverton to protect and expand its vital services for vulnerable people across the city.
One night outdoors to make a difference
The CEO Sleepout brings together business leaders, company directors and local organisations to raise money and awareness in the fight against homelessness.
While spending a single night outdoors cannot compare with the reality of homelessness, the event is designed to encourage greater understanding of the challenges faced by people who have nowhere safe to sleep.
For Chris, who has spent many years working in local radio and supporting community causes across Milton Keynes, taking part is another opportunity to put the station's commitment to the local community into action.
Through Horizon Radio, Chris and the team regularly highlight the work of local charities and community organisations, helping to raise awareness of the important services they provide.
By taking part in the Sleepout, Chris hopes to encourage listeners to make a contribution, however small, to support people facing homelessness.
Can you help Chris reach his £1,000 target?
With winter approaching and temperatures falling, the work of charities such as UnityMK becomes even more important.
Whether you can spare £5, £10, £20 or more, every donation will help support the fundraising effort and make a difference to people experiencing homelessness and hardship.
Chris would be incredibly grateful for your support, and together we can help UnityMK continue its important work in our city.
