Midsummer Place announces new Safari in the City summer experience

Midsummer Place have announced plans to hold a new event in the form of the Safari in the City event, with a safari-themed trail in the shopping centre.

Running from 18 July until 30 August, the trail of 10 sculptures includes a gorilla, zebra, giraffe, lion, rhino and elephant, with many of the species featured directly linked to animals that can be seen in real life at Woburn Safari Park, who will be the company’s exclusive partner for the campaign.

A primary centrepiece event will take place on 1 August in the form of the Safari Live event, when visitors will be able to experience even more safari-themed excitement.

Safari Live will provide a packed programme of free family entertainment, where visitors can see the animal kingdom come to life through stunning animatronic creatures, playful puppetry and loveable – slightly nutty – rangers. Interactive workshops with Woburn Safari Park and free face painting from 12pm to 3pm will also be taking place.

There will be plenty of entertainment events throughout the summer holidays, where visitors can enjoy a packed programme of free family entertainment.

One option includes the ‘Jungle is Massive’ disco parties hosted by the ever-popular Ragdolly Annas from 12pm to 3pm on Friday 24 and Friday 31 July, alongside Friday 21 and Friday 28 August.

Ranger Chris from Horizon Radio will also be holding events on most Thursdays throughout the school holidays for Monkey Madness, a series of high-energy, interactive family sessions featuring games, music, challenges and plenty of monkey-themed mayhem.

Woburn Safari Park’s team will be in the Boulevard, inspiring the next generation of animal conservationists with interactive sensory workshops on Thursday 30 July and Saturday 1 August between 11am and 4pm.
