Northampton Town have signed Connor Lemonheigh-Evans after his release by MK Dons.

The Cobblers have signed the 29-year-old on a 2-year contract, with Lemonheigh-Evans becoming the Cobblers’ 7th new signing ahead of the upcoming season.

Lemonheigh-Evans, who can play in midfield or at wing-back, left MK Dons in the summer after 2 years at Stadium MK. During his time with MK Dons, he made 64 appearances in all competitions, including 27 last season as the Dons won promotion from League Two.

The promotion he achieved at the Dons was Lemonheigh-Evans’ second promotion from League Two, having previously achieved one at Stockport in the 2023/24 season. He also spent time on loan with Notts County and AFC Wimbledon while contracted with the side from Greater Manchester, having joined Stockport from Torquay in 2022.

Northampton boss Chris Hogg said that Lemonheigh-Evans was a useful signing who would provide League Two experience as Northampton prepare to face the fourth tier next season.

He said, “Connor is an attack minded midfield player. He knows the level really well and has a lot of experience of being successful at this level, having won promotion from League 2 twice in the last three seasons. He knows what it takes and that can be very important.

“He is a really good professional, very diligent in his work and the way he looks after himself and he will offer good physicality, strong running and the ability and versatility to play in a number of different positions, which is a good attribute to have.

“We feel he is another good addition to the group and will add some more attacking threat.”
