Stewart returns to spark Lightning for 2026/27 season

The lifestack Milton Keynes Lightning are delighted to announce the return of forward Mack Stewart for the 2026/27 NIHL National Division season.

The 22-year-old Belfast-born winger heads back to Planet Ice Milton Keynes after a season in the EIHL with Coventry Blaze, where he featured in 53 games, recording 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points. Stewart brings with him a blend of EIHL experience and proven NIHL firepower, having previously delivered one of his finest campaigns in Lightning colours during the 2024/25 season, posting an impressive 31 goals and 34 assists for 65 points across 51 NIHL regular season games, and adding a further 7 playoff points.

A powerful and energetic forward, Stewart has developed considerably since his early days coming through the Belfast Giants junior system. With dual Northern Irish and Canadian nationality, he combines the pace and physicality of a natural winger with a knack for contributing at both ends of the ice. His two-way deal ensures he will continue to gain valuable Elite League experience alongside his commitments with the Lightning.

Speaking about his return, Stewart said:

Stewart’s return adds a proven and dynamic presence to the Lightning forward group as the club continues to build a competitive roster under Russell ahead of the new campaign. With silverware firmly in their sights, the Lightning faithful will be excited to see Stewart back in action come September.
