Willen Hospice’s Winter Warmer Raffle is offering local people the chance to win £3,000 while supporting vital hospice care and bereavement support in Milton Keynes.
The Winter Warmer Raffle is open until 26 March and features more than 100 prizes, including a £3,000 first prize, two £250 prizes and 100 runner-up prizes of £5. However, every ticket sold does far more than offer the chance of a cash boost.
Each entry helps Willen Hospice continue providing specialist hospice care and bereavement support to local families, free of charge. As a result, charity fundraising initiatives such as the Winter Warmer Raffle remain essential to sustaining services across Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.
Funds raised help deliver services including bereavement counselling. For example, Chrissie turned to Willen Hospice after her son, Matthew, received end-of-life hospice care.
“When you lose a child, it’s very different to losing anyone else,” said Chrissie. “Counselling was the turning point for me. It helped me to endure the loss of my first-born, who was everything I ever wanted in a son. I’ve had counselling before, but I so needed bereavement counselling. It was one of the most valuable times of my life.”
Her experience highlights the impact of hospice care beyond clinical treatment. In addition, it shows how charity fundraising directly strengthens bereavement support for families across Milton Keynes.
Louise Dela-Haye, Individual Giving and Lottery Manager at Willen Hospice, said the Winter Warmer Raffle offers a simple way for residents to make a difference. “Our Winter Warmer Raffle is a simple way for people to support local families during one of the most difficult times they may ever face. Every ticket helps fund hospice care and bereavement support services that make a real difference, and there’s the added excitement of a chance to win up to £3,000.”
Willen Hospice must raise £9.6 million each year to continue caring for the local community. Therefore, community charity fundraising plays a crucial role in maintaining hospice care and bereavement support services.
Tickets for the Winter Warmer Raffle can be purchased online at willen-hospice.org.uk/lottery or in any Willen Hospice shop. The closing date for posted entries is 20 March, while online entries close on 26 March. The draw will take place on 27 March, and winners will be announced within seven days.
Full terms and conditions, including chances of winning, are available on the Hospice’s website. Players must be aged 18 or over.
