Northampton Town’s pre-season schedule was completed with a 4-2 win over Solihull Moors.
The Cobblers had fallen behind to an early goal by Solihull’s Cameron Green, but Northampton came from behind to lead through goals by summer arrivals Matty Warhurst and Connor Lemonheigh-Evans.
Elliot List scored a penalty just after half-time before fellow sub Sam Hoskins would grab a fourth goal for Chris Hogg’s outfit.
Jacob Wakeling scored a late goal back just after Hoskins scored the Cobblers’ fourth, but Northampton still had the result to wrap up their win.
Northampton begin the season proper next weekend when they visit Leicester City in the Carabao Cup First Round. The Cobblers will then begin the League Two season in full a week after when they take on Swindon Town in their season opener.
In their pre-season programme, Chris Hogg’s Cobblers recorded two wins, two defeats and two draws. The Cobblers had beaten Solihull’s fellow National League side Southend 3-1, while they also played out 0-0 draws with Premier League newboys Coventry City and League One side Cambridge United. Their defeats saw them lose 3-0 to Leicester in a match behind closed doors while they also lost 2-0 to Championship team Birmingham City.
