Northampton announce arrival of Logan Briggs on loan from Leicester

Northampton Town have announced the signing of Logan Briggs, who joins on a season-long loan from Leicester City.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder becomes the fifth new signing of the summer at Sixfields, following the previously announced arrivals of Harvey Saunders, Zach Jeacock, James Maxwell and Janoi Donacien.

The deal also represents a homecoming for Briggs, who was born in Northampton. His first league appearance for the club will be his EFL debut.

Briggs arrives with a strong reputation for his work in the Leicester academy, having scored six and made eight assists for Leicester in the Premier League 2 academy competition.

Northampton boss Chris Hogg told the Cobblers’ official website that he was delighted to see him make the move to Sixfields.

He said, “He is a local boy who wants to play for Northampton Town. He is a player we have watched, we know a lot about and are delighted to bring in the group.

“Logan is a versatile, attacking midfield player who can play either centrally or wide, he has a lot of really good physical attributes with his mobility and pace and we believe he will be a good fit for us.

“He ticks a lot of boxes as far as we are concerned and we are really pleased to welcome Logan to Northampton Town.”
