MK Dons midfielder Will Collar joins Burton Albion on loan deal

Midfielder Will Collar has left MK Dons to join Burton Albion on a season-long loan deal.

The 29-year-old will spend the 2026/27 season on loan at the Pirelli Stadium, with the midfielder becoming Burton’s fifth new signing of the summer window.

Collar is the second midfielder to leave MK Dons in as many days, with Liam Kelly having made a permanent move to Peterborough United yesterday (13/08).

After joining in the summer 2025 window on a free from Stockport, Collar made 26 appearances in all competitions for MK Dons last season, scoring two goals. However, he made no appearances at all after Boxing Day 2025 after suffering an injury, with competition from others also see him fall down Paul Warne’s pecking order.

Burton manager Gary Bowyer told the Brewers’ official website that he was pleased with the deal.

He said, “We’re delighted to get Will in the building, he’s another player who will be a great role model for our young squad.

“He’s a good character and his CV shows that he knows how to win. We look forward to working with him and he will be a great asset for us over the course of this season.”
