The lifestack Milton Keynes Lightning are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian netminder Jared Whale for the 2026/27 season.
The 23-year-old goaltender arrives in Milton Keynes following an impressive NCAA career, where he established himself as a technically sound and highly competitive netminder.
Across his collegiate career, Whale iced for Alaska Anchorage, Quinnipiac University and the University of New Hampshire, making 65 NCAA appearances. He posted a 0.888 save percentage and recorded four shutouts, consistently demonstrating his ability to keep his team in games with calm, composed performances between the pipes.
Standing at 6’0″, Whale brings excellent athleticism, mobility and puck-tracking ability to the Lightning crease and is expected to play a key role in the club’s plans for the upcoming campaign.
Speaking about his move to Milton Keynes, Whale said:
“I’m very excited to be joining MK Lightning for this upcoming season. I’ve heard the fans are awesome and I’m looking forward to hearing them while I’m out on the ice. Super exciting season coming up, can’t wait for it to start!”
Head Coach Pete Russell is pleased to add the talented goaltender to the roster and believes Whale’s attributes will make him a valuable addition to the team.
Pete Russell said:
“Jared is a really good technical goalie. Moves fast and has high compete levels within the phases. He has had a good NCAA career and we are delighted to add him to our goalie tandem.”
Whale’s addition further strengthens the Lightning’s roster ahead of the 2026/27 season, with the club continuing to build a competitive squad capable of challenging throughout the campaign.
