MK Dons winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing appeared in court this week after being charged with assault.

The 34-year-old appeared in court after being charged with assaulting his partner after police were called to an incident that happened at his house in Shenstone in Staffordshire in June of this year.

Mendez-Laing appeared in a hearing at Cannock Magistrates Court on Friday (11/09), which he attended on crutches having recently undertaking surgery for a knee injury. At the hearing, Mendez-Laing spoke only to confirm his name, age and address.

The court heard that Mendez-Laing was alleged to have hit his wife over the head and injured her arm during an argument. Mendez-Laing denies the charges.

The judge allowed Mendez-Laing to leave the court on conditional bail, with a trial set for January. MK Dons have said they cannot comment on ongoing legal cases.

Mendez-Laing signed for MK Dons in 2025 from Derby County, and has made 29 appearances for the club, though he has not featured since the first league game of the current season.
