The operators of the local ice-cream and coffee shop Great Gelato have confirmed they plan to close their shop in Stony Stratford.
In a statement on social media, the owners of the cafe confirmed they plan to close after four years of operation from a shop on Stony Stratford High Street.
They said, “After more than four wonderful years of our little shop and five years of our family-run business, it is time to say goodbye to Great Gelato.
“Our last day will be Sunday 27th September 2026. While this chapter closes, a new one begins.
“Thank you so much for all your support, love Ethan and Joanna x”
In a follow-up update, they then also said, “We just wanted to say thank you for all of your kind words and messages. We have received so many questions about the next chapter and over the coming days we will reveal more. This is not the end but it is the end of Great Gelato.”
The company had previously opened a second outlet in Newton Leys, which also closed down in October 2025.
