MK City Council announce plans to expand local laundry service

Milton Keynes City Council are expanding their local laundry service to support more residents, with a focus on including those under 65 who have a care need.

Previously focused on older residents, the service is now available to people of any age who are receiving support from adult social care. The move will help more people stay independent at home, particularly those recovering from illness or managing long-term health conditions.

The City Council’s laundry team already supports people across Milton Keynes, including rural communities, by collecting, cleaning and returning laundry directly to residents’ homes.

The service offers flexible options, including one-off collections, weekly services and specialist support for those with additional needs. Residents can have clothing, bedding and larger items like blankets and duvets cleaned and returned within a week.

The service is available at a competitive cost, with standard laundry bags priced at under £20.
