Milton Keynes University Hospital signs construction agreement to build new hospital building

Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) has signed a partnership agreement towards the construction of a new hospital building in the city.

The deal between MKUH and Morgan Sindall Construction through the Hospital 2.0 Alliance, marking a major milestone in the delivery of its New Hospital Programme scheme and an important step towards a new hospital building for Milton Keynes.

As one of the schemes within the Government’s New Hospital Programme (NHP), the development represents a significant investment in healthcare services for Milton Keynes and surrounding communities. The new hospital building will provide a new home for maternity and children’s services, alongside additional surgical capacity, helping the Trust meet the needs of its fast-growing local community.

The agreement marks the transition from planning into delivery and establishes a long-term partnership between MKUH, NHS England and Morgan Sindall Construction. Through the Hospital 2.0 Alliance, organisations will work together as one team to deliver better hospitals for patients, staff and communities.

The Hospital 2.0 Alliance is a new national delivery model that brings together NHS England, NHS Trusts and construction partners through long-term, collaborative partnerships. Combining standardised design, digital innovation and modern methods of construction, the alliance is designed to improve quality, consistency and delivery across the New Hospital Programme.
