Former MK Dons goalkeeper Connal Trueman signs for Sheffield Wednesday

Former MK Dons goalkeeper Connal Trueman has signed for Sheffield Wednesday.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper has signed for the Owls on a one-year contract as one of two new keepers who joined the Yorkshire-based club yesterday (31/07), along with former Charlton custodian Ashley Maynard-Brewer.

Trueman had been released at the end of last season by MK Dons after a year and a half at Stadium MK, having joined the Dons from Millwall in the January 2025 transfer window.

In his time at the Dons, he made 20 first team appearances. Trueman had been first choice after initially signing under Scott Lindsey, but lost his place after Warne chose Craig MacGillivray as his first choice last season.

Speaking to the official Sheffield Wednesday website, Trueman voiced his delight to make the move to Hillsborough.

He said, “It’s a massive club and at the moment especially, it feels like a really good time to be here.

“I think you can really feel the buzz around the place and you can feel there is the start of a new chapter, a new era, and I’m buzzing to be here and be a part of that. 

“We are going to go for promotion this year, that’s what it’s all about, so anytime that’s dangled in front of you, it’s really, really exciting.”
