Milton Keynes Council seeks views on extending action against dangerous car cruising

Milton Keynes City Council is inviting residents to share their views on proposals to extend measures tackling anti-social car cruising in the city.

The council is looking to renew its Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) for a further three years. The order allows police and authorised officers to take swift action against vehicle-related anti-social behaviour, including street racing, reckless driving and activities that cause a public nuisance.

The PSPO was originally introduced to curb the dangers and disruption linked to large-scale car cruising events, which have previously raised concerns about public safety, noise, and the impact on local communities.

If extended, the order will continue to give enforcement teams the power to issue fines or take stronger action where drivers are found to be engaging in dangerous or disruptive behaviour.
