MK Dons have announced the arrival of defender Elijah Campbell, who joins the club on a season-long loan from Everton.

The 22-year-old defender is the club’s second transfer deadline day signing after the previously announced arrival of Ibrahim Fullah, and the Dons’ 10th overall signing of the summer transfer window.

Campbell is a left-footed defender who has previously appeared in the EFL with Fleetwood and Port Vale, as well as having a loan spell in Scotland with Ross County.

MK Dons boss Paul Warne said Campbell fit the club’s requirements of looking for an extra left-sided defender.

He said, “With Eli, we needed a left-footed centre half, wing back and left back, someone that could cover those positions, so he’s coming in on loan to compete in all of those positions really.

“He’s athletic and has, as they all seem to have, a really nice left foot, and is technically a really good player so he comes with some good recommendations.

“I know he was at Port Vale last year on loan and did really well. He’s another young player and he’s been welcomed into the club today.”
