A man from Milton Keynes has been sentenced for causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

John McKee, 30, of Carron Court, Bletchley, was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Wednesday (10/6), to three years in prison.

McKee pleaded guilty to one count each of causing serious injury dangerous driving and driving without insurance and two counts of dangerous driving.

Officers were looking for McKee as he was wanted in connection with a separate incident when he was found by police in a car park, with his car running.

McKee did not want to speak to officers and rammed the police car, thankfully with none of our officers in it, and made off. After that incident, he then continued to drive dangerously through the roads of Milton Keynes and was in a head on collision with another vehicle, causing the occupants of which serious injuries.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Ian Stevens said, “McKee’s reckless and dangerous actions showed a complete disregard for the safety of others on our roads.

“His decision to ram a police vehicle and drive away put lives at risk and ultimately resulted in a serious collision in which an innocent person was badly injured.

“We hope this sentence reflects the severity of his actions and serves as a warning that such behaviour will not be tolerated.”
