Luton sign attacker Jamie Donley on loan from Spurs

Luton Town have signed attacker Jamie Donley, who has joined the Hatters on a season-long loan from Spurs.

The 21-year-old Northern Irishman is Luton’s third loan signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Harrison Ashby and Emilio Lawrence, and their sixth first team recruit arrival.

Donley was thrown straight in for the Hatters side, with the man making a first-team debut against Mansfield Town today (30/08).

The attacker has been capped by the Northern Irish national team, receiving 8 caps for the senior side, while he has also enjoyed EFL experience in loan spells with Leyton Orient, Stoke and Oxford.

Luton boss Jack Wilshere told the club’s official website that he was delighted to bring Donley to Kenilworth Road.

He said, “Jamie’s a quality player and someone who we have kept our eye on since January. He went to the Championship with Oxford, but we’ve maintained a relationship with him.

“One thing we’ve done really well in this window is that we’ve had targets we wanted to go after. We knew the positions we wanted to improve or add depth in, and Jamie’s definitely been top of that list for a long time, so to get it done feels like a really important signing.”
