Former MK Dons wing-back Joe Tomlinson has signed for League 2 side Cheltenham Town after leaving Stadium MK.

Tomlinson, 26, left Stadium MK last month after 3 years with the Dons, and he has signed a contract of undisclosed length with the side from Gloucestershire.

The wing-back had joined the Dons in 2023 from Peterborough United, and made 108 appearances in all competitions, scoring 13 times.

Tomlinson could be in line for a quick reunion with his former colleagues, with his new club scheduled to play MK Dons in a pre-season friendly.

Speaking to the Cheltenham Town website, Tomlinson said he was pleased to make the move to the EV Charger Points Stadium.

He said, “I’m really happy to be here. I’m delighted to get it done and sorted before the start of pre-season.

“After speaking with the manager I knew this is where I wanted to be. I’m really excited and I just can’t wait to get started.”

Cheltenham Manager Steve Cotterill was delighted to confirm the deal. He said, “Joe is someone I have known for a few years and kept an eye on.

“Once I knew his contract was coming to an end with MK Dons, he was someone I wanted to secure for our football club.

“Joe has a great left foot, a fantastic attitude and has shown really good leadership skills, I am looking forward to working with him.”
