Man, 34, charged with betting shop robberies

A 34-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences in connection with two betting shop robberies.

William John Appleyard, of Kettering, has been charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of possession of a bladed article, and one count of assaulting an emergency worker.

The charges relate to two robberies of betting shops – one in Stamford Road, Kettering on Wednesday, June 24, and the other in Lincolnshire. 

Appleyard appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court this morning and was remanded into custody until his next appearance on August 8, 2022.
