A man seriously injured in Northampton collision dies in hospital

An electric scooter rider who suffered serious injuries in a road traffic collision in Edgar Mobbs Way, Northampton, has sadly died in hospital.

The collision occurred at about 10.55pm on Thursday, October 20, when a silver Renault Clio collided with a Toucan crossing pole, which then struck the rider, who was waiting to cross the carriageway, on the head.

The rider - a man in his 30s - sustained serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital Coventry, where he sadly died on Friday, October 21.

Investigations into the collision continue and officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have captured the collision or the car travelling along Walter Tull Way on dash-cam footage.
