Two council maintained parks recognised among the country's best

Milton Keynes City Council's Fred Roche Gardens and Emberton Country Park have been recognised among the country's best green spaces with Green Flag Awards.

The award, run by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, is a benchmark for quality parks and green spaces across the country. It celebrates places that are safe, clean, well-maintained, and that actively support biodiversity and community involvement.

Fred Roche Gardens has retained its Green Flag Award, while Emberton Country Park has achieved Green Flag status for the first time.

Fred Roche Gardens, located in the heart of Central Milton Keynes next to the Church of Christ the Cornerstone, offers a peaceful retreat in the city centre, with split-level gardens, public art, seating areas and space for community events throughout the year.

Emberton Country Park welcomes thousands of visitors each year and is known for its lakes, wildlife, walking routes, camping facilities and outdoor activities.
