MK Dons have announced the signings of wing-back Cohen Bramall and midfielder Daniel Barlaser, who arrive on free transfers.
Bramall, 30, has joined after leaving Luton Town, while Barlaser has arrived after departing Middlesbrough. Both players have signed deals of undisclosed length with MK Dons.
The duo become MK Dons’ second and third new signings ahead of the upcoming season, following on from the previous capture of defender Charlie Goode.
Former Luton man Bramall was the first confirmed, in a deal announced on Friday evening (03/07), with the wing-back signing after being released by Luton Town.
Last season, Bramall made 35 appearances for the Hatters as part of a Luton side that won the EFL Trophy and narrowly missed out on a place in the play-offs.
Before joining the Hatters, Bramall had previously played for MK Dons boss Paul Warne at Rotherham United, while he also spent time with Colchester, Lincoln and Portsmouth.
Speaking to the official MK Dons website, Warne voiced his delight to bring Bramall to Stadium MK.
He said, “Cohen Bramall is a player I’ve had before. He’s had a really good career, and he’s very quick on the pitch.
“He’s like a fullback that has winger tendencies, who always wants to take people on and gives us a great dynamic energy down the left side.
“He’s someone I’ve worked with before and we’ve always kept in touch. I always keep in touch with my old players, so this was a pretty easy signing and it was easy to convince him to come here.
“He wants to get back to the Championship, so he’s another great addition to the squad and he’ll make us stronger for when pre-season properly start, so I’m really pleased with him.”
Another player who has previously worked with Warne also made the move to Milton Keynes in the form of Barlaser, who played under Warne for Rotherham.
The midfielder arrives after being released by Middlesbrough, with the midfielder having spent last season in Scotland on loan with Hibernian as the Edinburgh-based side finished 5th in the Scottish Premiership.
The former Newcastle academy graduate first began working with Warne in 2019, when Rotherham signed him on loan from the Magpies before making a full transfer to bring him to South Yorkshire a year later.
Speaking of Barlaser, Warne said, “He’s a player that I’ve worked with before and had promotions with. He’s also a really good kid, really motivated and brilliant in the dressing room.
“He’s a very good footballer, great on set pieces, has a brilliant range of passing and he’s always looking to play forward, so he’s a good addition to our midfield options already.
“We’ve got a really strong midfield, I know Dan has played with Ben Wiles before as well, so he’ll know people in the dressing room already, so it should be an easy fit.
“He’s obviously worked with me and Richie Barker before too, so it was an easy sell from both sides, I’m really pleased with him.”
