Witnesses are being sought after a woman was assaulted in Wellingborough Road, Northampton.
Between 1.30am and 2.30am on Saturday, July 16, a 44-year-old woman was drinking with a man she knew adjacent to the Family Shopper in Wellingborough Road.
The man became aggressive and repeatedly punched the woman in the face and to the back of her head, causing visible injuries.
Witnesses or anyone with information which could assist the investigation are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

*A 49-year-old man from Northampton has been arrested on suspicion of assault and since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
