The incident happened between 8.15pm and 9pm on Tuesday (31/3), when a fire was started on a 5G telecommunications mast at the junction of Saxon Street and Dexter Avenue in Oldbrook.

Officers attended alongside other emergency services and evacuated nearby residents. The fire was quickly extinguished by the fire service and no one was injured.

Residents have since returned to their homes.

Thames Valley Police described the offender in their appeal as a man of slender build, wearing a light‑coloured baseball cap, a black tracksuit top with white stripes on the arms, and light‑coloured trousers.

“I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to please come forward.

“I would like to hear from anybody who has dash-cam, CCTV or doorbell camera footage that has captured the incident to please contact us.

“You can make a report via our website or by calling 101, quoting crime reference number 43260157608.
