CCTV released as part of police appeal after robbery in Milton Keynes

Police have released a CCTV image of a man that officers would like to speak to following a robbery in Milton Keynes.

The incident happened around 1.50pm on Monday 2 March outside the Chaffron Way campus of Milton Keynes College.

The victim, a man in his thirties, attempted to intervene when he saw a man trying to take a pedal cycle from the cycle racks at the front of the college campus.

The victim tried to hold on to the bicycle as the man pulled it away in attempt to break free with it, using sufficient force that caused the victim to fall on the floor and across the ground whilst gripping the bicycle.

The man punched the victim and then attempted to strike him again before leaving the scene without the bike, due to the victim’s resistance.

Thames Valley Police confirmed that the victim suffered minor injuries from the incident but did not require hospital treatment.

Detective Constable Tony Miles of the Milton Keynes Priority Crime Team said, “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this or has information that may assist us to please get in touch.

“If you recognise the man in the image, or if this is you, please contact us as we think this person may have information to assist our investigation.”

“If you have any information relating to this incident, please call 101 or report it online via our website, quoting 43260103304.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
