Milton Keynes Lightning are pleased to announce the return of promising young defenceman Archie Salisbury for the 2026/27 season.

Salisbury, who continues to establish himself as one of the club’s most exciting young prospects, returns following a strong 2025/26 campaign in the NIHL National Division. The Peterborough-born blueliner featured in 47 games last season, recording 3 goals and 9 assists for 12 points, while also contributing a physical edge with 61 penalty minutes.

Still only 19, Salisbury has already demonstrated significant growth since joining the Lightning setup from the Peterborough Phantoms in 2023. A former Great Britain U18 captain, he has steadily developed his game, gaining valuable experience and continuing to mature into a reliable defensive presence.

Known for his grit, work ethic, and willingness to compete, Salisbury has become an important part of the Lightning’s defensive core, combining physicality with an eagerness to learn and improve.

Head Coach Pete Russell commented:
“I’m delighted to have Archie Salisbury back for another year. Archie is a gritty young talent who had a really good year, and this season we’re focused on elevating specific parts of his game to help him reach that next level. The ceiling is high with Archie and we’re excited to keep developing him. I’m looking forward to working with Archie.”

Archie Salisbury added:
“I’m delighted to be staying at MK and continuing to develop my career, learning from Pete and the senior players.  Playing in front of our fans every Saturday night is an honour,  we truly have the best supporters in the league. Over the past two years, l’ve learned so much and grown a lot in my game. It’s been an incredible experience with its ups and downs, but I’m excited to get back to winning ways with MK”

Archie will continue to wear his number 4 jersey for the 2026/27 season. Supporters will have the opportunity to Own and Loan his jersey from 10pm on Friday by contacting dave@b2promodesign.com, stating the jersey type – Light, Dark, Warm-Up or any.
