Northampton Saints have regained the Prem Rugby title after a 26-17 win over Exeter Chiefs at Twickenham.

Two tries in three minutes by George Hendy during the second half helped the Saints over the line at the Allianz Stadium, as a late showing helped the Saints overcome the Chiefs to become champions for the second time in three seasons.

The victory sees the Saints win the Prem Rugby crown for the third time, with the 2026 title added to previous captured titles in 2014 and 2024.

Saints have already confirmed that they will host an open-top bus parade tomorrow afternoon (21/06) to celebrate. The entire squad and coaching group will be on an open top bus departing from the Saints’ stadium at Franklin’s Gardens at 2pm before arriving at the Guildhall in St Giles’ Square at approximately 2.30pm.

The bus will travel into Northampton Town Centre via Weedon Road, St James Road, Mare Fair, Gold Street, Mercers Row, George Row and Wood Hill. The club have encouraged supporters to line the streets along the way to create a sea of Black, Green and Gold and celebrate with the team.

Representatives of West Northamptonshire Council will greet the team with a stage set up outside Guldhall to hold the main celebrations. The event is free to attend, with the supporter area in front of the Guildhall opening from 1pm.

A tight final against the Devonians saw both sides exchange tries in hot conditions in London, with Exeter coming from behind to lead just after the half-time break.

But the Saints would get the job done, taking advantage of time Exeter players had spent in the sin bin to rack up points to wrestle the tie away from their opponents and confirm the win.
