Former MK Dons boss Scott Lindsey has left his position as boss of Crawley Town after a run of ten games without a win.

Lindsey leaves the Red Devils at the end of his second spell in charge, having previously left the club to take the MK Dons job in September 2024 before returning to Sussex in March 2025, less than a month after the end of his stint in charge at Stadium MK.

Crawley have confirmed that Lindsey’s assistant Neil Evans has also left the club, with the dismissal coming 2 days after defeat in Lindsey’s last game in charge as the Red Devils lost 1-0 away at Fleetwood on Saturday.

There was no official confirmation as of yet as to who will take charge of their next match against Gillingham on Saturday.

In a statement, Crawley owner Raphael Khalili said, “This was not an easy decision for the club. Scott has given this club some everlasting memories, which we will all be eternally grateful for. Unfortunately, results have not been at a high enough standard. Scott leaves the club with my highest regards, and I truly wish him and his family the very best for the future.

The work to appoint a new Manager is already underway, and we will make a statement on the matter in due course.”

Lindsey had joined MK Dons in September 2024, with the move coming just 4 months after his Crawley side beat MK Dons 8-1 on aggregate on their way to winning the League 2 play-offs. He replaced Mike Williamson after the then-Dons boss left the club to take a job as manager of Carlisle United.

After a positive start, things unravelled for Lindsey, with the Dons choosing to sack Lindsey after they picked up just 9 points from a possible 48 and drifted all the way down to 17th in the table.

Less than a month after leaving the Dons, Lindsey returned to Crawley as a replacement for Rob Elliott, who had replaced him at Crawley only to be fired himself.

The move came too late to stop Crawley from being relegated from League One last season, while things have been difficult for the club this campaign. The Red Devils sit one point and two places above the relegation zone, having won just six league games all season.
