From 18 July until 30 August, Midsummer Place is being transformed with Safari in the City, an exciting interactive trail featuring ten impressive animal sculptures hidden throughout the shopping centre. As you explore, you'll come across magnificent creatures including a gorilla, zebra, giraffe, lion, rhino and elephant, with many of the animals inspired by those you can see at nearby Woburn Safari Park.
Pick up a trail leaflet and see if you can find every animal while learning fascinating facts along the way. It's a great way to keep younger visitors entertained while enjoying everything the centre has to offer.
The biggest day of the summer programme is Safari Live on Saturday 1 August, when you can enjoy a packed schedule of free family entertainment throughout the day.
You can meet incredible animatronic animals, watch interactive puppetry performances and encounter some wonderfully eccentric safari rangers as they bring the animal kingdom to life. Woburn Safari Park will also be hosting hands-on workshops where you can discover more about wildlife and conservation, while free face painting will be available from 12pm until 3pm.
The safari fun continues throughout the school holidays with plenty more free activities for the whole family.
If your little ones love music and dancing, you can join the ever-popular Ragdolly Annas for their energetic Jungle is Massive disco parties between 12pm and 3pm on 24 July, 31 July, 21 August and 28 August.
On most Thursdays during the holidays, you can also join Ranger Chris from Horizon Radio for Monkey Madness. These lively family sessions are packed with games, music, interactive challenges and plenty of monkey-themed fun that's sure to keep children entertained.
Woburn Safari Park's education team will also be returning to the Boulevard on 30 July and 1 August between 11am and 4pm, where you can take part in interactive sensory workshops and learn more about the amazing animals that live at the safari park and the importance of protecting wildlife.
As part of the partnership, you can also take advantage of an exclusive offer from Woburn Safari Park. Simply pick up a Safari in the City trail leaflet at Midsummer Place and you'll find a voucher allowing adults to visit for the price of a child, subject to terms and conditions.
Whether you're searching for every animal on the trail, taking part in interactive workshops or enjoying the live entertainment, Safari in the City offers a fantastic free day out for families throughout the summer holidays in the heart of Milton Keynes.
