Venue: Cineworld Xscape | Date: 8th Feb Sunday | Format: 4DX

We headed to the Xscape Cineworld this past Sunday to catch this vibrant animation, and it’s safe to say it left us all feeling good.

The Plot: Underdogs (or Under-goats) Rule

The story follows Will, a small goat with a massive dream: making it into the professional leagues of Roarball. In a sport typically dominated by the fastest and fiercest predators on the planet, Will is naturally seen as being out of his depth.

The film doesn't shy away from the challenges of being the "little guy." Will faces constant shaming and doubt from his teammates, but his journey isn't just about fitting in—it’s about revolutionizing the game.

It’s a classic underdog story with a modern, high-energy twist that teaches kids that "small" can be a superpower. Goats teammates also lack confidence at first until they all become a team.

The Experience: 4DX Intensity

Watching this in 4DX was a game-changer, especially for the kids. If you haven't tried it, be prepared to be part of the action:

  • Moving Chairs: You feel every tackle and sprint on the Roarball court.
  • Environmental Effects: Water sprays, light flashes, and even scents (the "smirk" and stadium smells) brought the arena to life.
  • Visuals: The film is a kaleidoscope of colour, keeping our 6-year-old mesmerised and the 12-year-old engaged.

Highlights & Observations

  • Pacing: The film is incredibly fast-paced. There’s rarely a dull moment, making it perfect for younger viewers with shorter attention spans.
  • Vibe: It feels very "pro-sports." You’ll notice plenty of big-brand placements like Under Armour and Mercedes, which adds a touch of realism to this fictional animal world.
  • Message: Beyond the "blinding" chairs and the 4DX fun, the core message—that determination can disrupt the norm and never give up.
