YMCA Milton Keynes has been a cornerstone of support for young people in the city since 1981. As the only charity in Milton Keynes dedicated to providing supported housing for young adults aged 18–35, it offers more than just a roof over their heads. The organisation provides a holistic approach to support, ensuring that each individual has the opportunity to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
What They Do
At the heart of YMCA Milton Keynes is its campus, which can accommodate up to 199 young people. These residents receive tailored support to help them achieve their personal goals, whether that's pursuing education, securing employment, or developing life skills. The charity offers a range of services, including:
Youth and Community Services: Providing youth clubs and mentoring to engage young people and help them build positive relationships.
Support and Advice: Offering mental health support, counselling, and life skills sessions to promote well-being and personal development.
Employment Support: Assisting young people in gaining qualifications, skills, and employment opportunities to build a stable future.
Homes for Young People: Offering safe and secure accommodation with inclusive amenities and on-site support to help residents feel at home.
Making a Difference in the Community
YMCA Milton Keynes plays a crucial role in addressing youth homelessness in the city. With 64% of young people at risk of homelessness, compared to the national average, the charity provides a vital safety net for those in need.
