Newport Pagnell Carnival

Newport Pagnell Carnival returns for a vibrant weekend of community celebration on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 July 2025 at Riverside Meadow hosted by Horizon Radio with the theme “Carnival tells a Story”

This year’s carnival – the oldest in Milton Keynes – invites everyone to become part of a colourful tale filled with entertainment, fun and festivity.


Saturday 5 July – Parade, funfair and 5K run

Carnival 5K Run

  • A flat, one‑lap, closed‑road route starts at Blakelands (Tanners Drive) at 12.00 pm, with an inclusive “Family Fun” wave following at 12.02 pm. All ages welcome.

  • Runners are cheered through historic Newport Pagnell, crossing Tickford Bridge and finishing in Riverside Meadow. Entries from £8–£22, with medals, chip timing, optional T‑shirt, medical support and free field entry included 

Parade

  • Begins immediately after the runners, filling the High Street with themed floats, performers and charitable entries. Spectators are encouraged to line the route and enjoy the spectacle .

Riverside Meadow (from 12 pm)

  • Entry: £2 adults, £1 concessions, under-5s free.

  • Features: charity and community stalls, games, raffles, tombolas, craft sellers and refreshment outlets

Main Arena

  • Professional and local acts will perform throughout the afternoon hosted by Horizon Radio's Chris Gregg with headline act a live action arena show from Outlaw Entertainments, plus the award winning and much revered Nick Gregory's Misselchalke Gundogs and a PG rated performance from MyBurlesque at 2.15pm.

  • The Sunset Lounge hosts the Music Stage sponsored by Kirkby Diamond, showcasing live local talent:

Street Food & Bar

  • Enjoy global street food, sweet treats, hot and cold drinks, plus an on-site bar throughout the weekend .


Sunday 6 July – Vintage vehicles, duck race and live music

Classic & Vintage Car Parade & Show

  • A stunning display of classic vehicles traverses the town, followed by a show at Riverside Meadow 

Big Duck Race

  • A fun-filled race on the river where adorable ducks compete in a timed dash – a firm favourite with families 

Market Stalls & Funfair

  • Browse market stalls offering crafts, food and community wares, and enjoy funfair rides and attractions across the meadow .

Live Music & Beer Tent

  • Performances continue through the afternoon, with a beer tent providing a relaxed setting to enjoy the sounds .

Sunday field entry is free, making it the ideal day to explore carnival attractions at your leisure .
