Milton Keynes Lightning are delighted to announce the return of hometown goaltender Jordan Hedley for the 2026/27 season.

A product of the Milton Keynes junior system, Hedley stays with Lightning after another impressive campaign in net during the 2025/26 NIHL National season. The 29-year-old appeared in 41 league games for the Lightning, recording 24 wins, a .903 save percentage, a 3.45 goals-against average and two shutouts across the season.

Standing at 6’3”, Hedley continues to establish himself as one of the league’s most dependable British goaltenders, bringing experience, competitiveness and leadership to the Lightning dressing room.

For Hedley, the opportunity to once again wear the Lightning jersey means more than just another season on the ice.

“So excited to be back for this season. It’s a huge honour to represent the team I grew up watching as a kid. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead, it’s going to be a great year, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Lightning Head Coach Pete Russell expressed his excitement at securing the return of one of the club’s key players ahead of the new campaign.

“We are delighted Heds is returning this season. Heds is Lightning through and through.  Heds has good size and competes.  He is a great character around the room and I am looking forward to working with him again.”

Hedley’s connection with the club and fanbase has made him a hugely popular figure in Milton Keynes, with his consistency and work ethic continuing to set the standard both on and off the ice. His return provides the Lightning with a strong foundation as preparations continue for the 2026/27 season.

Everyone at Milton Keynes Lightning would like to welcome Heds back for another year.

Jordan will continue to wear his number 1 jersey for the 2026/27 season. Supporters will have the opportunity to Own and Loan his jersey from 7pm on Friday when the news is announced publicly by contacting dave@b2promodesign.com, stating the jersey type – Light, Dark, Warm-Up or any.
