Police have launched an investigation following an unexplained death in Milton Keynes, as well as confirming an arrest has been made in connection with the incident.

Thames Valley Police said that officers were called to an address in Nathanial Close in the Shenley Church End area of the city at around 6.50pm on Friday (6/2) after a 33-year-old woman was sadly found dead.

Police said that they are supporting the woman’s next of kin but she has not been formally identified.

A 33-year-old man of no fixed abode has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody at this time while facts behind the incident are established.

A scenewatch has been put in place at the address and the public will see an increased police presence in the area while police carry out our enquiries.

Lead investigating officer Detective Inspector Laura Herrington, based at Milton Keynes police station, said, “Firstly, our thoughts are with the loved ones of the woman who was sadly found dead at an address in Milton Keynes.

“While we have arrested a man on suspicion of murder, the woman’s death is currently unexplained and the suspect remains in our custody.

“We are in the early stages of a complex investigation but we are following a number of lines of enquiry to establish in full the circumstances around the death.”

“There is no threat to the wider public but people will see an increased police presence in the area while we investigate; please speak to a uniformed officer if you have any concerns.”
