Luton Town took a point from their trip to Leyton Orient after scoring a stoppage time equaliser in their 1-1 draw.
Theo Archibald had put the hosts in front, but Gideon Kodua’s 96th minute header landed in the back of the net to take a point for the Hatters in East London.
The point was enough for Jack Wilshere’s side to avoid falling to a first defeat in three League One outings, with the Hatters remaining 7th in the third tier table. They are 3 points off the play-offs.
The first half saw both sides struggle to create a lot going forward, with the half overshadowed by an injury to Leyton Orient’s Josh Koroma that saw the home side’s player leave on a stretcher.
Luton had created the only major opportunity of the half, with Jerry Yates denied by home goalkeeper Killian Cahill in the opening phase.
After the break, things began to open up when Leyton Orient scored the opening goal of the game. Dom Ballard seized the ball off of Kal Naismith and poked through for Archibald, who tapped the ball past Josh Keeley to put the home side ahead.
Luton came close to an equaliser when substitute Jordan Clark thumped a strike off the post just after coming on.
During the ten minutes of stoppage time, Luton would ultimately force a way through. Liam Walsh’s shot was deflected behind for a corner, and from the resulting corner that Walsh sent in, the ball landed for Kodua to head home the injury right at the end of proceedings.
Luton are next in action on Saturday, when they welcome League One’s current bottom side Port Vale to Kenilworth Road in their last home game before Christmas.
