Luton Town will face a Carabao Cup tie against Coventry City & EFL Vertu Trophy games against Barnet, Cambridge and Brighton & Hove Albion U21’s.
A big day of EFL fixture announcements yesterday (26/06) saw fixtures for the new EFL Championship, League One and League Two seasons announced as well as the First Round draw for the Carabao Cup and the group stage draw for the Vertu Trophy.
The Carabao Cup tie produced a familiar opponent for Luton in the form of Coventry City, who the Hatters beat in the 2023 Championship play-off final and who they faced in the Championship last season, with each side recording a home win.
Luton’s trip to the Coventry Building Society Arena will take place in the week beginning Monday August 11th 2025, with a specific fixture date to be announced in due course.
Meanwhile, the Vertu Trophy saw Brighton U21s added to Luton’s group as they prepare for their first entrance in the competition since the 2018/19 season.
Luton, who won the competition in the 2008/09 campaign, had already been drawn into a group featuring League 2 sides Cambridge and Barnet in a pre-draw the night before.
Three group stage games will be played starting from early September, with specific fixture dates announced in due course.
