Carlton Morris leaves Luton Town to join Derby County

Carlton Morris has left Luton Town after agreeing to join Championship outfit Derby County.

The 29-year-old has signed a three-year contract to join the Rams, with Luton receiving an undisclosed fee for their club captain.

Morris had spent 3 years at Luton after joining the Hatters from Barnsley in 2022.

He scored 39 times in 137 appearances for the club, including scoring 20 goals as Luton won promotion to the Premier League in the 2022/23 season and then being the Hatters’ top scorer in the Premier League in 2023/24.

Luton Manager Matt Bloomfield told the official Luton Town website that he wished Morris well.

He said, “Carlton has been a big player for our football club for a long time now, and in the relatively short spell that we have worked with him, he has led by example and given everything for the cause.

“We understand his desire to continue his career at the highest level he can, and he leaves to join Derby with our best wishes.

“I’m sure I speak for everyone in saying he’ll always be a welcome visitor at Kenilworth Road for what he helped the club achieve, and we all wish him well for his future career.”
