Midsummer Place in Milton Keynes announce plans for Wings of Wonder display

Midsummer Place in Milton Keynes have announced the launch of Wings of Wonder, an immersive celebration marking the unveiling of a new butterfly canopy installation.

Wings of Wonder forms part of the centre’s Naturally Curious campaign for 2026, with a launch event taking place on Saturday 7 March 2026. This free, all-ages event will run from 11:00am to 4:00pm within Midsummer Boulevard, offering attendees a programme of entertainment, creativity and family-friendly experiences.

The event will also feature the first Midsummer Market of 2026, which runs from 9:30am to 7:00pm and brings together a wide variety of local independent traders and artisans.

Wings of Wonder will centre around the unveiling of a brand new butterfly canopy installation, symbolising transformation and forming part of a busy year at the shopping centre.

Also taking place on the Saturday as part of the ceremony is live entertainment on the Bandstand from Little White Lights, Manny and Amber Clxre, free face painting and animal mask-making workshops, a team of butterfly stilt walkers bringing colour and energy to the Boulevard and various interactive experiences and vibrant market stalls throughout the day.

The first market of the year will also be taking place on Saturday, with the shopping centre showcasing a diverse collection of creative and artisan businesses. Confirmed attendees include:
