The centre:mk shopping centre in Central Milton Keynes is closed today (01/03) after a major incident that has been reported by multiple people as an alleged stabbing.
In a report on social media late last night (28/02), Thames Valley Police reported that officers were on the scene following what they described as a serious assault, but which many others on social media described as the stabbing of a security guard.
In their report, police said, “Officers are currently on scene at Centre MK following reports of a serious assault.
“We understand this may be concerning, but please be reassured that we have arrested the suspected offender.
“A scene will remain in place while officers carry out enquiries and if you have any concerns, please speak with officers in the area.
“If you witnessed the incident or have any information or mobile footage, please call 101 quoting INC 20260228 1537, or report it through our website. We will provide more information when we can.”
As of 11am today (01/03), Thames Valley Police have not officially confirmed the incident as a fatal stabbing.
Many people on social media have said the victim died following the incident, although this has not been confirmed by the police. It is therefore likely a murder investigation will be opened into the case.
An initial update late last night saw the centre:mk say, “The centre is currently closed while Emergency Services deal with a serious incident that occurred earlier this evening.”
In a further update this morning, the centre:mk added, “The centre is closed today (Sunday). We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and understanding. We will provide a further update later today.”
