The Safety Centre (Hazard Alley)

The Safety Centre, known as Hazard Alley, is a pioneering charity based in Milton Keynes, dedicated to providing immersive safety education. Established in 1994, it stands as the world’s first interactive safety education centre, offering hands-on learning experiences to children, young people, and adults across the region.

What They Do

Located in Kiln Farm, Milton Keynes, Hazard Alley features a series of full-size, realistic scenarios designed to teach safety awareness and emergency response. Visitors, guided by trained volunteers, explore various settings such as a home, railway crossing, playground, and dark alley, learning to identify hazards and appropriate safety measures.

The centre offers tailored sessions for different groups, including school tours, family visits, and outreach programs for special educational needs (SEN) students. Additionally, it provides accredited first aid and fire safety training for adults.

Making a Difference

Hazard Alley has made a significant impact on the local community by equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills to stay safe in everyday situations. The centre's innovative approach to safety education ensures that participants not only learn about potential hazards but also practice real-life responses in a controlled, supportive environment.
