Carers MK

Carers MK is a dedicated charity in Milton Keynes that has been providing support to unpaid carers of all ages—from 8 to 98+—who assist family members or friends with illness, disability, or other needs. Their services include advice, emotional support, training, and access to support groups and workshops.

Key Services

  • Counselling & Emotional Support: Offering confidential counselling services and a listening ear to help carers manage the emotional challenges of their role.

  • Training & Workshops: Providing workshops and training sessions to equip carers with skills and knowledge to support their caring responsibilities.

  • Hospital Support: Having a support worker based at Milton Keynes University Hospital to assist carers navigating hospital services.

  • Online Support Tool: Partnering with Bridgit Care to offer an online platform for carers to access information, advice, and create personal support plans.

Transition of Services

As of May 2025, Carers MK is no longer the commissioned provider for carers' services in Milton Keynes. However, they continue to support carers through their online platform and hospital-based support worker. For adult carer support, Citizens Advice Milton Keynes has taken over the service, while CHUMS is now responsible for supporting young carers and young adult carers.
